Monitor Newsletter Nov 07
Dear [first name]
In this issue I would like to:
- Tell you about a new website that we have been working on
- Explain how brand matters
- Introduce two talented and energetic people
- Share some thoughts on winners
|
Polypipe
In recent months we have been helping Polypipe develop their new
website. Employing 2,500 people and manufacturing over 350 million
metres of pipe every year, Polypipe is one of Europe's largest and fastest
growing manufacturers of piping and sanitary systems for the residential,
commercial and infrastructure sectors.
The new website is used by an eclectic mix of busy people looking for
system solutions from a range of 20,000 products, so it's vitally important
to make the information clearly visible and easily available.
Click on
www.polypipe.com and check out the home page, in particular
the building schematics. Open them up and hover over the product links
and you'll see some of the many clever solutions on this site. |

Brand Matters
Your brand is one of the company's most valuable assets. Building and
protecting the brand by following a set of standards is everyone's job.
But what is this thing called "brand?" When people hear the word, they
often think first about the company name, logo, product names, packaging
and advertising slogans. All those things are important, of course. But when
we talk about brand in today's world, we're really talking about the total
experience - all the factors that come together to form your image and
reputation... Read more |

Tony Barry
Tony has joined us as Business Development Director, reinforcing our
already strong strategic expertise and marketing experience across the
retail, manufacturing and home interiors sectors.
With experience in a variety of B2B and B2C markets, including as a PLC
main board director, and an impeccable track record in building brands and
developing businesses. Tony was previously CEO of Neville Johnson
Offices, where he built a consumer brand from scratch. Tony has also served
as a North West regional councillor at the CBI. I am thrilled to have Tony on
board and we're already reaping the rewards of his vast experience. |

Helen Terry
Helen has almost 20 years' experience in a wide variety of communication
roles, including as an editor and copywriter for a number of FTSE100
companies and magazines.
She spent four years as Head of Internal Communications for Alliance &
Leicester, where she initiated and implemented internal communications
strategy, heading a team that provided consultancy to the Group and
supported the management of change.
Working with Helen is both stimulating and rewarding because she's a
creative thinker who sees beyond the obvious and revels in the strategic
thought process and I am delighted that she's joined the team. |

Winners
I read the following in The Daily Telegraph the day before the final of the Rugby World Cup:
'There are four pillars on which winners thrive:
- The ability to perform and thrive under pressure
- An unshakeable belief in themselves and the team around them
- Maintaining their focus despite distractions
- Active motivation'
